Update your browserCongratulations to everyone involved in the 2022 Representative Season! It was the first full rep season since 2019 and everyone did well to jump back on court without missing a beat. The Coaches, Managers, Referees, Rep Delegate, parents/carers, and various volunteers who made it possible should be proud!
In early August we celebrated with the players and their families. A range of community nominated awards and coach’s awards were presented. It was a pleasure to hand out the following awards:
The Ryan Walsh Trophy for Representative Team of the Year | Under 12 Girls
These girls showed phenomenal growth during the season to go from big losses at Barrengarry to placing second in their division at Country Tournament. They stayed committed to building their skills and showed true team spirit in supporting each other.
Representative Players of the Year | Oliver Driscoll and Layla Volpatti
Awarded to a male and female player who has succeeded with their representative development beyond SBA. Both players were selected to the Illawarra Academy of Sport for this season. They demonstrate good sportsmanship and contribute positively around the stadium.
Graduating Players | Kate Fairbarn, Bella Sebbens, Darcy Martin
Awarded to the players who represent SBA every year from U12-U18. For these girls, it was a tough journey as they have not had enough players to form a rep team but continued to show up to trials and show leadership by contributing to the Association.
Junior Representative Referee | Greg Davids
Awarded to the referee who has succeeded with their development as a representative referee. Greg was selected to referee the U18B grand final at Country Tournament and is generous with his time as a referee mentor.
