Shoalhaven Tigers Performance Program
SBA is excited to launch a BRAND NEW elite training initiative for Term 4, 2025 — the Shoalhaven Tigers Performance Program (STPP).
The STPP is designed to deliver high-intensity training for athletes who have been identified as progressing, or showing strong potential to progress, through the BNSW pathways. The program will prepare athletes for higher levels of competition by challenging them in a professional, performance-focused environment.

Program Overview
The Shoalhaven Tigers Performance Program (STPP) is designed to provide identified athletes with advanced training opportunities, focusing on the development of individual skills, offensive and defensive concepts, and overall basketball IQ.
This program will run throughout Term 4, 2025 (13 October – 19 December), with training sessions delivered weekly by accredited SBA coaches.
Identification Areas of Focus
Coaches will evaluate and identify athletes with particular attention to:
- Attitude – respect, positivity, and coachability
- Effort – consistent work ethic and willingness to push beyond comfort zones
- Skill Level (Age-Appropriate) – current technical and tactical ability in alignment with SBA’s Skill Matrix and Basketball NSW/BA development pathways
- Drive and Aspirations – commitment to personal development, team growth, and long-term representative basketball pathways
Training Commitments
Athletes selected for this program are expected to commit fully to all scheduled sessions.
- Mandatory attendance – players are expected to attend all sessions.
- Absences – if a player cannot attend due to extenuating circumstances, the coach must be notified in advance.

Program Duration
- Start Date: Monday, 13 October 2025
- End Date: Friday, 19 December 2025
Expression of Interest
Expressions of Interest (EOI) are open from Friday 5 September 2025 to 5:00pm, Wednesday 17 September 2025.
No EOIs submitted after this date will be considered.
All applications will be reviewed by a selection panel (including the appointed coach) and then submitted to the SBA Board for final approval.

Selection
All athletes will be notified of the outcome of their EOI via their nominated email address on Friday, 19 September 2025.
Successful athletes are required to complete the online registration and agreement form by 5:00pm, Tuesday 30 September 2025.
All selections are subject to final approval by the SBA Board.
Registration & Fees
Fees for the STPP are charged prior to commencement of the program.
If payment presents any difficulty, families may contact the SBA office to arrange a payment plan.
Program fees include:
- All scheduled training sessions
- An official STPP reversible training singlet
Fees:
- All Age Groups: $330
Players are required to complete and return the emailed agreement form prior to commencing the program.
Uniform requirements
All players are required to wear the official STPP reversible training singlet to every scheduled training session.
- Please refer to the sizing guide for training singlets here. These singlets are the same sizes as the SBA domestic competition singlets.
- The singlet is provided as part of the program registration fee (no additional cost).
- Players must indicate their required singlet size when completing their Expression of Interest (EOI).
- To ensure a consistent and professional identity, no other representative program apparel (e.g., BNSW or other associations) is to be worn. Only SBA and STPP apparel should be worn at training sessions.
Player Expectations
All athletes selected for the STPP are expected to:
- Attend all training sessions on time and prepared (taped etc.)
- Wear the STPP reversible training singlet to all sessions.
- Bring a water bottle and basketball to every session.
- Demonstrate respect for coaches, teammates, referees, and facilities.
- Uphold the SBA Player Code of Conduct and Club Values at all times.
- Consistently embody the desired aspects outlined in the Areas of Focus (attitude, effort, skill development, drive and aspirations).
Coach Expectations
Coaches delivering the STPP are expected to:
- Deliver sessions aligned with the SBA Skill Matrix and Basketball NSW/BA pathways.
- Incorporate drills that are both developmental and engaging, including activities designed purely for fun to maintain player enthusiasm.
- Uphold the SBA Player Code of Conduct and Club Values at all times.
- Provide constructive feedback in line with the key areas of focus (attitude, effort, skill, drive) and support progress in playing ability.
- Report on athlete progress to the SBA Coaching Director and relevant staff at the conclusion of the program.
