Term 2 Basketball Programs Now Open!

Shoalhaven Basketball Association is excited to announce that Term 2 2026 program registrations are now open.

Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or looking to take their game to the next level, we offer a clear pathway for all ages and abilities, from introductory programs through to advanced skill development and inclusive participation opportunities.

Key Dates:

  • Thursday 2 April: Registration Opens for all programs
  • Monday April 20: Tiger Cubs Mondays and Girls Tigers Academy Start
  • Thursday April 23: Thursday Aussie Hoops, U10’s competition, Boys Tigers Academy and Assist All Hoops (Come N’ Play) Start
  • Sunday April 26: Sunday Aussie Hoops Starts
  • Monday 29 June – Sunday 5 July: Last week for programs classes – Assist All Hoops to finish earlier on 18 June

What is Tiger Cubs?

Tiger Cubs is our introductory program designed specifically for our youngest players. Through fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities, children develop:

  • Basic motor skills and coordination
  • Confidence and independence
  • Social skills and teamwork
  • A love the game and being active

Sessions are structured to keep kids moving, learning, and engaged in a supportive environment.

When is Tiger Cubs for Term 2, 2026?

Session Details:

Mondays: 10:30–11:15 AM

20 April – 29 June (7 weeks)

No sessions: 27/04, 18/05, 1/06 & 8/06

Fridays: 10:30–11:15 AM

24 April – 3 July (9 weeks)

No sessions: 01/05 & 22/05

How much is it and How can I register?

Mondays
$42 for 7 weeks

Fridays
$54 for 9 weeks

Fees consist of:

  • Membership ($48 yearly or $36 6-monthly)

FORD AUSSIE HOOPS (Ages 5-10) – Game-based Basketball Fun!

What is Aussie Hoops?

Aussie Hoops is Basketball Australia’s official beginner program, focused on teaching fundamental skills in a fun, game-based environment.

Participants will develop:

Confidence in a structured but enjoyable setting

Dribbling, passing, and shooting fundamentals

Game awareness and teamwork

What Aussie Hoops Sessions are available?

Session Options:

FORD AUSSIE HOOPS – THURSDAYS

Start Date: 23 April – 2 July
Number of Sessions: 11
When: Thursdays, at 4 pm – 5 pm.
Where: Courts 1, 2 & 3 at the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre, 90 Cambewarra Road, Bomaderry
Ages: 5 to 10yo
Gender: Mixed
Level: The starting level is based on the participant’s age; however, they can progress as their skills develop.
– Rookies | DOB 2021 – 2018 | Court 2
– Starters & All Stars | DOB 2017 – 2013 | Court 3
– Girls Only | Open to all ages | Court 1 | This group is optional; girls can choose to join the main groups if they want.

U10S MIXED DOMESTIC COMPETITION

Start Date: 23 April 2026 – 2 July 
Number of Sessions: 11
When: Thursdays, at 5 pm
Where: Court 2 at the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre, 90 Cambewarra Road, Bomaderry
Ages: 5 – 9yo
Gender: Mixed
Registration & Cost: FREE – This program is open to ALL Aussie Hoops participants.

Dates: 26 April – 5 July
Number of Sessions: 10 total – No session on 7 June
When: Sundays at 10 am – 11 am
Where: Bomaderry High School
Ages: 5 to 10
Gender: Mixed

    Returning Participant – $148; OR
    New Participants – $198 (This includes program fees + a participant pack with a ball, singlet and stickers).

    Sundays (10 Weeks)

    New Participants – $184 (This includes program fees + a participant pack with a ball, singlet and stickers).

    Tigers Academy (AGES U12–U18) – Elevate your game!

    Tigers Academy is designed for players looking to improve their skills for domestic and representative basketball.

    What is Tigers Academy?

    SBA’s weekly training sessions perfect for all players, this is an optional training session that focuses on improving fundamental skills and concepts to improve your basketball IQ and take your game to the next level.

    Our weekly sessions focus on:

    • Skill development and advanced fundamentals
    • Game concepts and decision-making
    • Building basketball IQ
    • Preparing players for higher-level competition

      • Mondays, 4:00–5:00 PM

    Assist All Hoops – Come ‘N’ Play (All Ages)

    Inclusive basketball for everyone

    What is ASSIST ALL HOOPS?

    Shoalhaven Tigers are proud to support Basketball NSW’s brand-new ASSIST ALL HOOPS program, an inclusive initiative designed for participants with an intellectual impairment and neurodiversity.

    This 8-week program provides:

    • A safe and supportive environment
    • Skill development at an individual pace
    • Confidence-building through participation
    • A pathway into modified games and further basketball opportunities

    The ASSIST ALL HOOPS Program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.

    When & Where is ASSIST ALL HOOPS being held?

    Session Options:

    When: Thursdays, 5-6 pm

    Where: Shoalhaven Indoor Sport Centre (Bomaderry), Court 1

    Dates: 8 Weeks, starting from 30 April (7 May, 14 May, 21 May, 28 May, 4 June, 11 June, 18 June)

    The Term 2 program is coached by Alex Field, who has progressed through Shoalhaven’s junior playing and coaching pathways.

    • All Ages: $110 8 sessions – includes graduation pack at end of program!

    • Membership – If due, Membership will be automatically applied to the total registration fee, although the registration platform (Basketball Connect) does not explicitly say this.
    • In full – Upfront payment at the time of registration
    • Payment Plan – Email programs@shoalhavenbasketball.com.au to receive a personalised link to create a customised payment plan through Basketball Connect
    • Active Kids Vouchers are accepted. If you can’t process your AKV through Basketball Connect, contact the office on the above email BEFORE registering, and we can process them manually.
