Seniors provide their own team singlet, often with their sponsor or team name displayed. Singlets must have a number front and back. Wear black shorts or a design that coordinates with your singlet. Talk to us before choosing your team colours to avoid choosing the same uniform as an existing team. The SBA uniform policy can be viewed here.
Yes. They must be black as stated by FIBA rules.
Players must adhere to the uniform policy set out in our competition rules. From week three of each season, uniform penalties of one point per non-uniform item will be enforced. These are applied to the opposing team’s score at halftime.
SBA has the same rules across junior and senior competition. Senior team delegates are required to read these, share them with their team, and provide confirmation to SBA that this has taken place.
Yes. Teams are rostered on bench duty every couple of weeks either before or after their game. Your team must provide two people for bench duty and at times a third person is required to be a duty referee. Bench duty will appear in the Game Day app for your team.
Your team must have members willing to referee a game when rostered on duty. Referee courses are delivered regularly to build skills and confidence. In most cases, the Duty Referee will be running with a more experienced referee.
Failure to provide players for duty on three occasions during a season will result in sanctions. After the third infraction, the offending team will be required to attend a score bench education session before being allowed to take the court again.
There are two components to basketball fees. Term fees cover court fees, administration, and referee costs. An annual fee is also paid to Basketball NSW for insurance and related costs. View the fee breakdown here.
We’re always looking for keen people to help make SBA a better place. Use your existing skills or learn something new. Join the Board, focus on fundraising or don the Tigers mascot – there’s something for everyone!
A huge thank you to our sponsors who support the Tigers in so many ways. Be sure to give them some love next time you need a local business.
