Senior Representative Awards 2022 | Nominations Open

After a valiant effort from our Youth Men and Men, the senior representative season is over for 2022. Award nominations are now open and the community is invited to have their say.

Attendance built at Waratah League home games over the season and the Barrengarry women were well supported. We’re sure some of you are keen to have your say!

Nominations are being sought for the following awards before 5pm Monday 12 September:

• Senior Representative Player (Male & Female)
• Representative Coach of the Year (will be assessed with junior coach nominations already received)

How to Apply:

• Download the nomination form
• Complete the form and return to admin@shoalhavenbasketball.com.au with the subject line ‘Award Nominations’
• Nominations MUST meet the criteria to be considered and will be evaluated by a panel of SBA representatives who do not have any conflict of interest with the senior representative program

Nominations for senior representative awards plus domestic player and referee awards will be called for toward the end of the year.

SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR – MALE & FEMALE

To be awarded to the Senior male and female players who have achieved success within the Senior Representative Program in that year.

The criteria set out for this award is:

1. Includes being selected for a BNSW Waratah League Award – such as All Star 5, Players of the Year, Top Point Scorer etc.

Things to consider when nominating a player for this award:

1. The player must demonstrate good sportsmanship.
2. Ideally the player gives back to the Association by being generally helpful and positive around the stadium, at home and while travelling.
3. Where competition is close for the award, we will look for players who add value to the Association (examples of this include but are not limited to: coaching a younger representative or domestic team, joining a committee such as fundraising, supporting the domestic competition by doing bench duty, refereeing domestic competition).

REPRESENTATIVE COACH OF THE YEAR

To be awarded to a Representative Coach who demonstrates commitment to their team and SBA. This award is open to Senior and Junior Coaches so nominations will be called for again when the senior representative season finishes and will be presented after that time.

The criteria set out for this award are:

1. Shows a passion for basketball and commitment to their team
2. Builds a strong rapport and gets the best from their players
3. Demonstrates good sportsmanship on the bench when representing SBA

Please note: If you have already nominated a junior coach a second nomination is invalid. Representative coaches from junior and senior will be assessed together in one pool.
